THE FACES OF THE DRYADS
On a deserted plain wanders dejected wanderer. He stumbles upon a half-dry trees-the Koryaks. In each of the "dryads" he sees things hidden enchanted beauty. But in vain he chases the elusive faces of shadows. The exhausted stranger falls to the ground.
VISION. IMAGINATION.
It is surrounded by a host of graces, which excited in his mind are woven into intricate patterns, teasing and enticing character. One of them nimble, agile Panza, which supports a traveler in his loneliness. But Providence separateth chief friends.
THE LANDLADY QUITERIA.
Wanderer imagines a new city, where a young lady greeted derisively hapless traveler, exuding the right and left ridiculous compliments. Suddenly it seems to him that evil scoffer turn the mill. Smitten под6обным "treachery", he's terrified of the pas gives.
NONSENSE
Mad with fear, the dreamer fancies that he is pursued by a knight of the moon, which protects his faithful Panza. However, the tireless pursuer slays the traveler.
DULCINEA DEL TOBOSO
The traveler in a delirium he sees the landlady transformed into a beautiful lady, which, as it rushes to the aid of her lover, caressing him, heals his wound. But, alas, the Mirage dissipates, and her face melts into dusk.6
DREAMS
His mind chafe vision. Singing+s Panza, who becomes the new hope of a madman. But the fog again obscures the clouded mind of the dreamer.
QUEEN
Imagination takes the stranger into the Royal Palace where the ladies sedately circling in Pavane. Blinded by luxury, guest, forgetting about any rules of etiquette, dare to dance with the Queen himself. A fool driven out of the Palace.
CAVALCADE
In the confusion, the traveler brewing a Gypsy, who predicts for him a quick death. And then in his excited imagination seem to be a series of images of the moon Knight, Panza, furies, pursuing and tormenting him. The wanderer does not stand up: in it something snapped, torn. He froze, as if in a stupor.
"DEATH OF A PILGRIM
The stream of consciousness of the hero, the agony.... He is afraid of everything, clinging to life, inquisitive and with the insane hope of watching the faces of the dryads. But it nowhere finds support. Suddenly, it occurs spiritual turning point. He is preparing for the new countries-wide.
